My Performance style
The best performances tell great stories, a lesson I embraced early in my circus career. With a background in plays and musicals, I understood the importance of bringing words and lyrics to life with precision. However, the circus introduced me to the freedom of expression within a theme, where conveying ideas without words became essential. This shift pushed me to create performances that revolve around simple, logical stories, easily understood by the audience.
My theater studies at Colgate University reinforced this approach. There, I learned that the character’s inner life and the clarity of their expression are paramount. This insight guided my work at the National Circus School, where I deepened my ability to convey stories through movement. Each performance, from minor roles to leading characters, is infused with a rich inner life and backstory, ensuring that every gesture communicates the intended emotions and narrative.
